Hey @artsvoteyyc — why did you leave almost half the mayoral candidates out of your online poll? Please include everyone on ballot. #yycvote
I think I’ve said it before, but I really don’t appreciate #yyc charity events posting their non-election promotions to #yycvote

It’s a shame his campaign team has gone negative, because Bob Hawkesworth has long struck me as a decent well-motivated guy. #yycvote
Re: Living wage: It seems some are basically saying “If we don’t keep people in poverty, they won’t have jobs.” #yycvote
If @joeformayor is really “embracing the internet”, where has he been in the online discussions? #yycvote
If we keep people in poverty, we reduce the overall economy and there will be fewer overall jobs. Even Henry Ford understood that. #yycvote
Access Calgary is a much needed service, but is woefully inadequate, currently. Massive room for improvement — but needs funding. #yycvote
Not just condos — rental apartments are in desperate need of recycling pickup, too. (plus organics for composting) #yycvote
I must remember to not shake hands with politicians — especially during election season. Caught another flu bug :-(
People under 18 aren’t as politically engaged as adults because we deliberately exclude them. So, lower the voting age. #yycvote
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you win.” #yycvote
And, before some folks get in an uproar about “tradition”, members of Calgary’s City Council were originally called Councillors. #yycvote
Have I mentioned lately how much I despise the problems timezones create for date-time handling when programming computers?
RT @suecretz So is it time to change from Alderman to Councillor? If we are refreshing the city perhaps we update the language too #yycvote
I don’t care how undesirable a candidate may be to someone — nothing justifies vandalizing campaign signs or offices. #yycvote

In our multi-candidate elections, First Past The Post voting usually means we violate the principal of Majority Rule. #yycvote
If you can only point to one less than optimal result, you haven’t disproven all better voting systems. #yycvote
I am sooo tired of people using Stelmach’s Tory win as an attempt to discredit better voting systems. There are many better ways. #yycvote
Question I’ve been asked: Should the school board picture an (incumbent) election candidate on the front of their website? #yycvote
This particular case doesn’t bother me much because 1) I wouldn’t recognize the candidate 2) They are not named. #yycvote
However, it would probably be best to avoid even the slightest sense of any possible favouritism or biasing. #yycvote
Personally, I’m not aware of any rental apartment buildings in Calgary that have recycling (private or otherwise), including mine. #yycvote
RT @aaron_holmes A better way to elect a mayor:Alternative vote. Rank candidates honestly, let the system sort it out. http://sn.im/16ctdn
Last call for #yycvote t-shirt ideas (slogans, etc.). I hope to put up poll later today. #yycvoteshirt
Oops! Been so swamped past few days got sidetracked from #yycvoteshirt project. Will try to have survey up today. Order on Monday. #yycvote

Let me rephrase the question: Do you think the city should put, or keep, any of its workers in poverty? If not: Support living wage #yycvote
(I say that as someone who, like nearly everyone, has been guilty of leaping to conclusions without sufficient evidence.)
#yycbackroom I just misread that as “21 hours _into_ TwiBate 3.0” Now THAT would be a test not only of debating skill, but of endurance :-D
Personally, I’m glad so many Calgarians are in the “undecided” camp. Let’s take the time to learn about candidates before deciding. #yycvote
People are taking statements on Twitter as fact. Very dangerous. Please question everything and ask for evidence before jumping. #yycvote

Cutting voices out of the democratic dialogue does NOT serve the public. Democracy is messy — but worth the effort. #yycvote
Only the voters should get to prioritize candidates. Not the media, pollsters, donors, narrow-interest groups, debate organizers,… #yycvote
It seems a lot of people assuming that well regulated secondary suites have same problems as ungoverned illegal suites. Not true. #yycvote
Disappointed to see @CBCCalgary biasing the election by arbitrarily ordering candidates. Equal treatment for all candidates, please #yycvote
In case it’s not totally clear yet, I believe in a level playing field for all candidates in elections — no matter who they are. #yycvote
